Lailah Fofana is a Program Analyst at Healthcare Ready. In this capacity she manages outreach and communication initiatives while also conduring policy research, tracking relevant preparedness legislation and providing analytical support to Healthcare Ready's range of programs.
Lailah is a recent graduate of Howard University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a concentration in Management Communications and Economics. Throughout her coursework at the University, she has strengthened her research, communications and interpersonal skills.
This past summer she had the opportunity to work as an intern at Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States in the Community Benefits department. As an in intern, she was responsible for coordinating public health projects and plans while tracking the projected outcomes of each. She also conducted qualitative and quantitative research and presented her findings to managers and executives.
During the fall semester of 2015 she interned at the Government Affairs Office of American Express. During the internship she was responsible for analyzing data on various case studies, conducting research on various issues and topics in public policy, and managing a variety of projects for staff members. Her job duties also included covering legislative hearings on Capitol Hill with follow up presentations and written reports.
With her background in research and communications, Lailah is able to conduct qualitative and quantitative research while assisting with social media communications and blog management. Lailah plans on attending graduate school to earn her Masters in Public Health in the near future.
