Florida Insurance Information

View our quick list of Florida Health Insurance providers, hotlines, and websites. During disasters, insurance providers may issue special waivers to help you get your prescriptoins more easily during your time of need.

Steps for Healthcare Provider:

  1. Ask if the person has health insurance.
  2. If so, ask what health insurer and if possible, pharmacy benefit manager, the person
  3. Then ask: Do you happen to have your Member ID card so that we can call the number
    on the back of the card?
  4. If they do not have their Member ID card, provide instructions for contacting their
    health insurer or PBM.
  5. When calling the number, they are going to at least need the name and date of birth
    for each person with insurance.

  • The SCDOT Call Center (1-855-GO-SCDOT) is standing by 24/7 to take calls about the mandatory coastal evacuation and other road condition questions
  • Emergency Declarations
  • Emergency Medication Refills: In the event of an Emergency Proclamation, pharmacists may dispense up to a 30-day refill of any non-controlled substance.

  • Emergency Prescription Refill: In the event of an Emergency Proclamation, pharmacists may dispense a one-time 30-day refill of any non-controlled substance.
  • Emergency Prescription Refill Due to Interruption of Medical Srevices: In the event that a pharmacist is unable to obtain a refill authorization from a perscriber during an Emergency Proclamation because of the prescriber's inability to provide medical services to the patient, pharmacists may dispense a one-time 90-day emergency supply of any non-controlled substance.
