Partnership to train emergency managers on the pharmaceutical supply chain

January 4, 2016

January 4, 2016 - Happy New Year, everyone!

**Please find slides and audio from the webinar series referenced below here.

We are excited to share the launch of a new Healthcare Ready project!

Healthcare Ready is partnering with the CDC’s Division of the Strategic National Stockpile to develop a series of trainings on the pharmaceutical supply chain, specifically for emergency managers. We view this as an excellent opportunity to educate emergency managers on the supply chain. Even more, the trainings will provide a forum for an open discussion about the importance of keeping the supply chain operational during an emergency (and what exactly that entails).

Starting next week, these four webinars will provide attendees with information on the pharmaceutical supply chain from subject matter experts in the public and private sector. The four sessions include:

  • Basics of the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain
  • Partnering with the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain
  • Principles of Inventory Management
  • Principles of Pharmaceutical Regulation

The first session is scheduled for next Monday, January 25 from 1:30pm - 4:30pm EST and will feature a discussion on the three main components of the pharmaceutical supply chain – manufacturing, distribution and dispensing (healthcare facilities) – as well as lessons learned from previous emergencies.

We are pleased have Perry Fri, Executive Vice President of Industry Relations, Membership & Education at HDMA (confirmed), Tom Twitty, Senior Vice President, Operations and Regulatory Compliance at H. D. Smith (confirmed), and Denman Murray, Director, Rx Inventory Management Drugs Stores atWalgreens (confirmed), among others, joining us.
