Partnering for Patient and Community Resilience

Partnering for Patient and Community Resilience

May 31, 2019

May 31, 2019 - In our ongoing commitment to health preparedness, response and resilience, we're thrilled to expand our partnership with Eli Lilly. As we focus on bolstering the preparedness environment, our combined efforts will ensure patients have resources necessary to prepare for disasters in advance.

On many occasions, we've seen the direct impact advanced community and household planning has on the ability to save lives. However, we also know that in a world of competing priorities, it can be difficult to invest in preparedness for an event that might happen in the face of many immediate concerns. With that perspective in mind, this partnership will allow us to provide more resources that will ultimately make it easier for patients, especially those who need it most, to prepare for crises.

As Healthcare Ready seeks to assist people across the country in preparing for and bouncing back from disasters, partnerships and investments in our work are vital. This opportunity with Eli Lilly enables Healthcare Ready to further expand our preparedness and response capabilities by:

  • Expanding and improving Rx Open, which maps pharmacies in impacted areas to let patients know which pharmacies are open.
  • Helping patients with specific chronic care needs understand how best they should prepare for an event in a clear, easy-to-use format.
  • Providing emergency refill assistance and education through a user-friendly platform.

Through our work with Eli Lilly, we can further incorporate health resilience into our broader efforts aimed at improving patient readiness. This ongoing partnership will strengthen our efforts to prioritize the unique needs of patients and communities, while increasing access of vital resources needed during a crisis. The partnership will also elevate our work in ensuring the healthcare supply chain can sustain the flow of lifesaving resources to patients in need, wherever they are.

Our ultimate mission is to protect patients during a crisis. In order to effectively achieve this, we must continue to leverage partnerships across sectors that effectively support preparedness and response. Alongside Eli Lilly, we look forward to achieving on this mission by enhancing patient and community resilience in the face of increasingly frequent disasters.
